We are available for after hours medical emergencies, large or small. We can still be reached at 435-259-8710 after 5:00 PM Monday- Friday, after 12:00 PM on Saturday and all day Sunday. You can also reach us at this number on all major holidays. Please be advised this is for emergencies that cannot wait to be seen during regular office hours and that emergency fees will apply. Payment is due at time of service.
Please understand that our emergency staff is the same staff that has been working all day (sometimes longer than an 8 hour day during mobile clinic days or during cattle season when we frequently have to leave before 7am), and while we are happy to help, we do ask that non-emergencies wait to be seen during regular hours.
Please be advised that on call staff does not live at the veterinary clinic. It takes time for us to get to the clinic and you need to call ahead of time if you want to be seen for an emergency. Do not show up to Dr. Sorensen's home and expect on call staff to be there, they have their own homes and families. If you are coming from out of town, we kindly ask you call again at Blue Hill or around the Colorado River Bridge so staff can meet you at the clinic. Frequently we are given an estimate of when people expect to arrive, and they either arrive earlier than anticipated and have to wait for staff to come in or much later than anticipated due to unforeseen circumstances. If you cannot make it or change your mind, please call us! If you don't, it leaves our staff on "stand by" waiting for you. We're okay if you change your mind, just let us know so our technicians can return home :)
